Rafael Ariztia and Amanda Lavi, make up the "R" and the "A" of RA Design Group. Rafael is a licensed general contractor who started in the design industry as an artisan painter. After working many years his clients began tapping his artistic sensibilities for their interior design projects. As a self taught interior designer with an exacting nature and a deep interest in architecture, Rafael felt that by becoming a general contractor he would have an aesthetic viewpoint that many general contractors don't possess. Amanda is an interior designer who began her artistic journey as a painter and then as a graphic designer. Taking time out to have a family led her to think about how the built environment affects people's lives. Returning to school she studied interior design and architecture and began her own design firm in 1994. Over the years Rafael and Amanda worked on various projects together and discussed how the communication break down that occurs between the concept and the finished product often resulted in an unrealized design and compromised quality. Keenly aware of their strong creative connection in 2003 they decided to form RA Design Group to follow their dreams of bringing visionary design and architectural concepts to their clients. Together they have more than 30 years experience in the design industry. Adding to their design knowledge and artistic expression is an objective they continue to pursue.
